Kalevala-kehto

The Kalevalakehto was designed in collaboration with international students at the Finnish Embassy in Washington DC. The retreat folly evokes the poetry of the Kalevala, the Finnish national epic. The structure holds 15 people and is intended to be a place for meetings or meditation- where people can solve problems in connection with nature and in the spirit of the Kalevala. As a team we participated in the construction process in Finland. The project's dedication launched Helsinki Design Week 2010.
